  • Students registered for a Cooperative Education course (generally course numbers 367, 667, or 867), an internship (generally course numbers 368, 668, or 868), or a Practicum (generally course numbers 369, 669, or 869) will be reported as full-time status for the semester.
  • Doctoral students will be reported full time provided that they have advanced to candidacy and are registered for the 898/899 continuous enrollment course. The "Advancement to Candidacy (D9)" form is available听.

Half-time

  • Fall and Spring Terms: A minimum of 6 semester hours for undergraduates, and 4 semesters hours for graduate students.
  • Summer Term: A minimum of 5 semester hours for undergraduates, and 3 hours for graduate students.
  • Being classified half-time is important because, as a general rule, a student must be enrolled at least half-time to keep the repayment of student loans in deferment.

Effect of Audit:
Audit grades do not count toward full-time enrollment and could take you below the minimum hours required to maintain full-time or part-time status. Eligibility for financial aid, loans, insurance, and veterans benefits may be affected for those who fall below the minimum. Students should consult their financial aid counselor or lender for enrollment requirements.
